Background

The Ohio Hematology Oncology Society was organized in 1994 to advocate for, educate and inform practicing Oncologists and Hematologists. Originally formed to represent medical Oncologists in Ohio and West Virginia, the organization has expanded its scope to include Hematologists and other professionals on the cancer care team. The Society is dedicated to assisting Oncologists and Hematologists in the delivery of the highest quality patient care by providing a forum to exchange ideas and by representing their interests and those of patients before governmental entities, insurance carriers, pharmaceutical companies and the public.

OHOS is a state affiliate for the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Association of Community Cancer Centers and works closely with other health care organizations such as the American Society of Hematology, and the Ohio State Medical Association.

Cancer care and treatment options are evolving rapidly. The Society is dedicated to safeguarding patient access to quality cancer care, while ensuring physicians can deliver high-quality care across diverse treatment settings. We are committed to helping our members adapt to and shape the complex challenges posed by managed care, legislation, and government regulations.
