Background

The Ohio Hematology Oncology Society (OHOS) was founded in 1994 to advocate for, educate and inform practicing oncologists and hematologists. Originally established to represent medical oncologists in Ohio and West Virginia, OHOS has grown into a statewide organization serving the entire multidisciplinary cancer care community.

OHOS is dedicated to supporting the delivery of high-quality cancer care by providing education, practical resources and opportunities for members to exchange ideas and collaborate. The Society represents the interests of oncology professionals and the patients they serve before government agencies, policymakers, health plans and other payers, pharmaceutical companies and the public.

OHOS is a state affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Community Oncology Alliance and works closely with other healthcare organizations, including the American Society of Hematology and the Ohio State Medical Association.

Cancer care, treatment options and the healthcare environment continue to evolve rapidly. OHOS works to protect patient access to quality care while supporting oncology professionals across community, hospital and academic settings. We help our members understand, navigate and shape the reimbursement, payer, legislative and regulatory issues affecting cancer care throughout Ohio.
