Medicare Telehealth Flexibilities Have Been Extended

OHOS Members,

Following the recent passage of the Continuing Resolution (CR) by Congress, Medicare telehealth flexibilities have been reinstated and are now extended retroactively from October 1, 2025, through January 31, 2026. This action ensures continued support for telehealth services during this period.

Key points to know:

  • Telehealth services provided on or after October 1, 2025 are once again eligible under these flexibilities.

  • You may continue delivering and billing telehealth services without interruption through January 31, 2026.

  • Claims that were previously denied, held, or paid incorrectly can potentially be rebilled or corrected, with CMS guidance on reprocessing expected soon.

  • Private insurance and Medicare Advantage plans may implement telehealth rules differently. We recommend checking directly with each plan to confirm coverage and billing requirements.

Please be aware: As systems are updated to accommodate these reinstated telehealth rules, temporary delays in Medicare payments may occur. OHOS will continue to monitor updates and share new information as it becomes available.

For questions about documentation, coding, or billing under the reinstated telehealth flexibilities, OHOS is here to support you.

Thank you for your continued commitment to high-quality care and engagement with OHOS.
